Enter as a customer and leave as a friend at J.R.’s Steakhouse Downtown. From a savory lunch or dinner to a sweet dessert, J.R.’s has a meal to satisfy any palate.

The owner, Angelia Tucker, was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia, until she moved to the Phenix City area, where she has lived ever since. The original J.R.’s was opened in 1997 by Jimmy and Glenda Mitchell, her in-laws. The name J.R.’s came from Jimmy Ronald Mitchell’s nickname “J.R.” and stuck, even as J.R.’s Steakhouse Downtown opened in 2002. J.R.’s Steakhouse Downtown has been serving hot meals to the Smiths Station area for 23 years now. Angelia credits the Smiths Station community’s support for J.R.’s, as well as God’s many blessings, as to why J.R.’s has continued to flourish over the years. J.R.’s stands out due to its quality and consistently good meals, as well as the engagement that the servers and Angelia have with every customer who walks through their doors. J.R.’s is a place where you come for an excellent meal and stay for a great time in their family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere. They also have gospel singing on Monday nights from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
