Business of the Month – Horne’s Pest Control
Since 1973, Horne Pest Control has been a go-to for pest control services in our city and surrounding areas, and is the City of Smiths Station’s February Business of the Month.
Started out of a home on Summerville Road, the business was moved in 1975 to its present location at 1919 Lee Road 430.
Three years later, business co-founder William Horne took over the business and renamed it “Horne Pest Control.” He had previous experience working for Orkin.
After William’s passing, his wife Vera took over ownership and their daughter Lisa Williams oversees the day-to-day operations.
While the bulk of the business’s clients can be found in the Smiths Station-Phenix City area, they provide service for clients in Auburn, Columbus, Lumpkin, Opelika, Roanoke and Talbotton.
According to the business’s website, they “provide complete termite and pest control services for both commercial and residential clients” and can “deal with every infestation situation, from routine scheduling to emergency eradication of pests.”
Entering their 47th year in business, Lisa said their customer service and attention to detail have and will continue to be the key ingredients to their success.
“We’ve had some customers who have been with us for 30 years or more, and that’s just a wonderful thing. They’ve just stayed with us … and we’re grateful for that,” Lisa said.
Staff are on call from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are closed on weekends.
