Business of the Month – U-Save-It Pharmacy
Instead of waiting hours to have prescriptions filled at major pharmacy chains, customers can have their prescriptions filled in minutes at U Save It Pharmacy, the City of Smiths Station’s January Business of the Month.
Previously known as Plaza Pharmacy, U-Save-It bought and renamed the pharmacy in 2011. Smiths Station’s U-Save-It is one of 26 pharmacies that the company operates in four Southeastern states.
U-Save-It’s staff consists of three pharmacy technicians, head pharmacist David Sanders and two other pharmacists who fill in for Sanders when he is off. Sanders is an Auburn University alum who has been with the pharmacy since his graduation years ago.
According to Sanders, his pharmacy’s five core values are “community mindedness, being honorable, timely, professional and innovative.”
However, another aspect of the pharmacy is the intentionality of creating lasting relationships with their customers, many of whom they know by name.
“When they walk through the door, we know who they are, and know a lot about their families too,” Sanders said.
In addition to filling prescriptions, U-Save-It offers a free prescription delivery service conducted by pharmacy technician Tommy Jackson, well-stocked over-the-counter selection of medicines, immunizations, diabetic supplies and inventory of durable medical equipment including portable toilets, walkers and wheelchairs. Coupons for prescriptions and other services are available via www.usaveitpharmacy.com.
