The Smiths Station storefront is part of a family-owned business headquartered in Roanoke, which officially opened in 1948. Superior has locations across East Alabama, including Lanett, Notasulga, Wetumpka and its headquarters.

While the exact opening date of the Smiths Station storefront is unknown, manager Gary Mitchell has been affiliated with the local branch since 1985. He spent his first six years with the company as a driver and serviceman in 1988 until his promotion to store manager in 1991.

Mitchell worked several years at the Notasulga branch in the 90s before returning to Smiths Station. He has held that role since.
Superior’s services include commercial and residential propane delivery, tank installation and appliance repairs. Inside their storefront, patrons can select their next stove or set of gas logs.

“We’re a company that you can trust and depend on. We’re up front with people, and what we tell them they’re going to do, we do,” Mitchell said. “I try to treat everyone the way I’d want to be treated.”

Mitchell noted that the fall and winter seasons are a particularly busy time for the company, but that they work to make sure all their ”customer’s needs are in a prompt way.”
